Meet Our Team

Laura
Laura
Co-founder of CLAP, Laura is a qualified primary school teacher specialising in infant education, special needs and English as a foreign language. After working for several years as teacher and teacher trainer, she now uses all her experience in writing CLAP shows, training teachers and continuing her work with infant students.
Graeme
Graeme
With an Honors degree in classics and archeology Graeme’s education had nothing to do with providing education. On arrival in Spain in 1999 whilst working as a teacher he got the acting bug. One of the founders of CLAP he manages to get his thumb in most of the CLAP pies.
Joe
Joe
Whilst studing psychology at Balliol, Oxford University, Joe began to tread the boards. He hasn’t looked back since. With a CELTA and more than 15 years teaching experience Joe brings all his attributes with him whether it’s performing, writing or directing.
Suzy-Bo
Suzy-Bo
Suzy-Bo studied theatre and music throughout her years at school in England, and later went on to achieve a BA Hons Degree in Performing Art from the University of Manchester.
Since then she has worked as an actress and an English teacher, both in Madrid and abroad. Her skills in teaching languages and her passion for the dramatic arts make for a great theatrical learning experience. She’s always sporting a friendly smile and is really fun to learn with!
Garret
Garret
Garret has been involved in CLAP from the beginning, originally as an actor and later as a director/consultant. He is an independent theatre practitioner-researcher and has been using theatre in educational settings for more than fifteen years. His experience in this discipline includes facilitating, acting, playwriting, and directing. Beginning in the U.K. and Ireland, then with Spain as a base, he became involved in creating interactive theatre performances and workshops for second language acquisition in Europe both for professional development for educators and in school settings. He received an M.A. in Applied Theatre from The City University of New York in 2010, and he is currently researching additional language acquisition through drama and theatre on the Professional Doctorate (PhD) in Applied Theatre programme at the University of Manchester.
Edmund
Edmund
Edmund came to Spain in 2000, started working immediately as an English teacher (CELTA) and never returned to his native country of Wales (apart from visiting his mum and big brothers). Edmund specialises in adult teaching courses using his considerable experience, out-going character and sense of humour to bring out the best in his students. If anyone has taken part in a CLAP immersion weekend we are sure that they will agree!
Shawn
Shawn
Shawn has been teaching both children and adults the English language for over ten years, in a handful of different countries, including Spain. His acting career started as a child in elementary school, and continued on throughout high school winning him a scholarship. It wasn’t until Graeme discovered his “talents” that he would soon become a member of CLAP and some of his fondest memories are traveling though Spain on tour. Currently teaching in Thailand using CLAP methodology, CLAP hopes to use Shawn’s considerable talents again, working in Thailand in the near future. Shawn is considered a “Human Jukebox” by some, playing guitar, piano, drums, and vocals.
